Lost.

Feeling lonely and scared today. Not sure what to do about it. I hate when everything is up in the air, when I have no control over anything. My life is one giant transition period right now and I hate it. I hate not knowing what will come next. Where will I live? What will I do? Who will I love? What's next?! What's next?! Someone tell me! I feel so helpless.

Those moments.

You know those moments when life is better than your dreams? When you've imagined something over and over again in your head and that something finally comes true?
And it's even better in real life?

I live for those moments. I love those moments.

Put a cork in it

After a wonderful weekend of wine tasting, gorging myself with delicious foods, and visiting with my fantastic family in Walla Walla, WA I can truly see why so many people love Walla Walla and all it has to offer. It may not be the biggest city, or the most well known, but what it lacks in status and size, it more than makes up for in wine, eats, treats, and good hearted, fun loving people (not to mention the beautiful landscapes of rolling hills, farmland, and vineyards.

My Dad and I recently road tripped east, just as a father/daughter duo, to get in some R&R time. It was a wonderful weekend, and needless to say, I came home with quite a few bottles of wine
(Thanks Dad!).

Now, home in Portland, and blissfully drinking away the contents of my newly amassed collection of wine, I am wondering what to do with the left over bottles and corks...

I've found a few creative ideas online.
Which do you like the best?

And don't worry, I have PLENTY of corks (All of the vineyards I visited graciously gave me there used corks.)

*Disclaimer: Ok, I know I've been using a lot of collages lately, but I'm a little obsessed. I found this awesome photo editing site called Picture2Life. It's the best free photo editor I've found, so naturally I'm excited.

Going on Vacation...

via

I'm off to beautiful Bend, Oregon for another fun-filled visit with some great friends!

Check out the awesome house
we rented for our stay!

5000 square feet of luxury living! So excited! There's a hot tub and a tanning bed to top it all off! I could just spend my vacation time in this wonderful house..but, then again, who wants to stay inside when the beautiful central Oregon sun is waiting? Not me.

Check out these outfits I'll be donning <3.

Jeez, I love summer!

This Weekend: The Sisters Rodeo & Mt.Hood

This weekend Chris and I got to visit some wonderful friends in beautiful Bend, Oregon.
We had so much fun and made some wonderful memories.
Here are some snapshots from the weekend!

The Sisters Rodeo!
You'll never guess what luck we had at the Rodeo! While in line to buy tickets for the Rodeo a family came up to us and offered us their tickets! And those tickets ended up being front row seats! Woohoo! Not bad for my first Rodeo.

(as usual, I'm starving for attention while Chris is on the phone)

A bit hard to see, but if you look closely you can see the Three Sisters

This field was so beautiful. The colors were so vibrant and alive. There is nothing like the beauty of spring.<3

Next weekend should be another exciting one. My classmates, Chris and I are heading back to Bend for an official vacation full of adventure, relaxation, and lots of fun.

Inspiring Family Photos

While rummaging through a suitcase filled with old photographs at my parents house this weekend I stumbled upon some vintage photos of my relatives from way back when. It was fascinating to see the wonderful fashion of the past, especially the 20's. I just love how dressed up everyone got!
Even the men were styling!

Make sure to look at the bubble skirt my Great Grandmother is wearing, so stylish.
Love all the different hats!

Lorena was a buyer for a department store so, of course, she was stylish from head to toe!

The Transition Period

I’ve been working so hard lately, constantly studying, writing, networking…But I wonder, will it all pay off? Will I really get what I want? Is it all worth it?

Lately, I feel like all my effort to achieve my dreams is coming at a cost. I have felt disconnected with the world, my friends, family, and now, even with my boyfriend.

Our lives are currently in a state of limbo. Chris is currently trying to start his career here, and it has been very difficult for him. He has had a lot of free time, which has most definitely driven us apart.

This transition period has been very tough for us. I’ve honestly just been waiting for him to find a job and a routine so that we can also find OUR own routine. I just want to be able to relate to him again and him to me.

So, the challenge for us will be to survive this period while we are doing such different things and come out of it together and strong…

5. My dad is one of the sweetest guys I know and I'm so glad he is always there for me when I need him.
6. Kinco's is really expensive.
7. Law & Ethics class is really not as interesting as you might think.
8. Vintage cameras are way cool! (Just got a working Kodak Brownie from 1942 and it works!)
9. Cake flavored ice cream is the Shit!
10. I love my boyfriend. He puts up with me when others wouldn't dare.
Here's my new camera! Can't wait to try it out!

Asia Through My Eyes

These birds were perched just outside the train station in Kamakura.
I was in disbelief that someone had actually knit them  outfits
AND that no one had stolen or vandalized them. xoxo #OnlyInJapan

Hi Chicas! So I've been thinking about how to let you in on all the awesome stuff I saw during my radtastic trip to Asia. I've decided that instead of writing all about my trip it might be more enjoyable just to see my trip. So I've created a compilation of my favorite pictures on tumblr for you to check out. Let me know what you think!

Sorry I've been Away

This has been a crazy week filled with school, studies, and the Portland Bridal Expo.  You may be wondering how the heck I got involved in the Portland Bridal Expo...Well, long story short, I volunteered to help a friend and fellow classmate, Kim Morrison, in her attempt to enhance marketing for Cocoon Silk (a small bridal boutique in NW Portland).

A little bit about the company: Cocoon Silk’s gowns are custom designed by Yun, a Portland transplant, and his mother who still lives in Cambodia. Gowns are custom made for the client. Yun and his staff work with clients to decide upon the gown design and client measurements are taken in-shop. The gowns are constructed out of 100% silk which is hand loomed and dyed with natural vegetable dyes in Yun’s home town in Cambodia. Cocoon Silk and Yun’s family’s silk farm employs Yun’s family in Cambodia as well as approximately 200 villagers. Once the gown is returned to Cocoon Silk’s NW 23rd shop, clients return for free alterations for an amazing custom fit done by Yun, his sister Leak, and Cocoon Silk staff.  For more info on the expo check out the Masters of International Management Blog!

Check out some of the pics from the Expo!

Getting to Know me

Since I haven't really given you all a fair chance to get to know me yet I thought I 'd give you a little insight into the things that make me happy.  So for the next 10 posts I'm going to show you...

1. Dancing

Dancing: I used to dance everyday. I miss it.  It's amazing how something can make you feel so good.  Ya know that feeling that runs through your body when you begin to move? It starts in your fingertips and travels all the way to your toes.  I love that feeling.  When I dance it feels like a familiar friend is joining me to play, a friend you can tell anything to, be crazy with, and have fun with.  Dancing is an amazing feeling, an outlet. It is freeing, so freeing.

And So it Begins Anew

A New Year
Another year begins, yet I'm not so excited to see what this years holds in store for me, but rather I'm still waiting for next year.  All I can think about is what I will be doing this time next year.  Will all of this schooling I'm doing now pay off?  Will I have a good job?  Will I be on my way to success?
Cross your fingers...

A New Apartment
I moved into a brand new apartment this weekend.  It's current status: organized chaos.  Boxes are everywhere and strategically organized piles cover the floor.  But all is dandy because amidst the chaos is a new more exciting development....The Boyfriend is coming to join me! I can't wait!

A New Term
A not so new schedule.  It's back to the grind, back to the library,  and back to an endless stream of homework.  I feel like I have already begun to neglect both my friends and my poor kitty.
But, alas, they keep saying it will all be worth it soon...
